5/7/23 - 5th Sunday of Easter

The risen Christ is the way, the truth and the life. Salvation in Christ alone is exclusive--there is only one Savior we're ever going to have, but salvation in Christ alone is the cornerstone on which God builds us into His temple of living stones. Pastor's sermon, "We Are God's House of Living Stones" is based on 1 Peter 2:4-10. Feel free to download a copy of the service folder from our website at www.christthekinggb.org/sunday-bulletins. God bless your worship!

4/30/23 - Good Shepherd Sunday

Certainly, the image of Jesus as Shepherd and His people as His sheep is familiar to many. Yet how often do we stop to appreciate the love of our Good Shepherd? Today we are reminded that what makes true shepherds in God’s kingdom are their relationship to Christ, the Good Shepherd, who is the only gate for the sheep. We follow in His footsteps, even if it means suffering for doing good. Pastor's sermon, "Follow in Your Shepherd's Footsteps" is based on 1 Peter 2:19-25.

4/23/23 - 3rd Sunday of Easter

Hope is lost when we let our wants or expectations get in the way of hearing God's clear Word. God restores our hope by raising Jesus from the dead and pointing us back to His promises. Pastor's sermon, "Jesus Lives to Restore Our Hope" is based on 1 Peter 1:17-21.

4/16/23 - 2nd Sunday of Easter

As our attention turns again to the upper room, Thomas' doubts about the risen Lord bring to mind our own fears and doubts. Yet in the risen Jesus we have a Savior who strengthens our faith by giving us the proof and peace we need in His Word and sacraments. As Peter puts it, we have been born again into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Pastor's sermon, "Praise God for Our Living Hope in Christ" is based on 1 Peter 1:3-9. God bless your worship!

4/9/23 - Easter Sunday

Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia! Bearing our guilt and punishment, Jesus died, but today--on the third day--He rose to life in glory! By His resurrection Jesus has brought us from death to life, and we celebrate Him as the source of our salvation! Pastor's sermon, "Salvation Belongs to the LORD" is based on Jonah 2:2-9. Follow along with today's worship folder, found at www.christthekinggb.org/sunday-bulletins. God bless your worship!

4/2/23 - Palm Sunday

Hail the King who humbly comes to save us. The time of Christ's glory has come, but it will be a glory found in humility as Jesus humbles Himself to save us. Ultimately, He is exalted as the One whose lowly obedience has saved humanity from sin and death. We see this humility and lowly obedience in Jesus' choice of animal to ride into Jerusalem. Pastor's sermon, "His Final Steps Led to a Donkey" is based on Matthew 21:1-11.

3/26/23 - 5th Sunday in Lent

In the face of death we know that Jesus wins the total victory for us. At the tomb of Lazarus, Jesus defeats death and reminds us that He is the resurrection and the life. Pastor's sermon, "Jesus Is the Resurrection and the Life" is based on John 11:17-27, 38-45.
