3/19/23 - 4th Sunday in Lent

Jesus calls us from a life of sinful selfishness to selfless service in Him. As our Savior shares with His disciples that His life's journey will end at a cross, He encourages them to seek greatness by serving others. Pastor's sermon, "Living the Good Life" is based on Matthew 20:17-28. Download a copy of the worship folder at www.christthekinggb.org/sunday-bulletins. God bless your worship!

3/12/23 - 3rd Sunday in Lent

The account of Jesus healing a man born blind reveals many of our own blind spots as sinful human beings--our blindness to God, to ourselves, and to each other. Yet in the Lord Jesus Christ we find the answer to our blindness. Pastor's sermon, "The Light of Jesus Opens Our Eyes" is based on selected verses from John 9.

3/5/23 - 2nd Sunday in Lent

Simple trust in God's promises brings the gift of living water for thirsty souls. Abram, trusting God's promise, went where God commanded, and became not only the father of many nations, but the forefather of the Promised Seed who would bless all nations. Pastor's sermon, "Life Is a Journey of Faith" is based on Genesis 12:1-8.

2/26/23 - First Sunday in Lent

As we begin the Lenten season, we follow Jesus into the desert as He battles Satan's tempations. He did so to win back what we lost when Adam fell into sin and more! His victory reverses the guilt of our sins and grants us an eternal future in His presence! And it's in His victory that we find the strength to battle the devil's temptations and accusations in our own lives. Pastor's sermon, "Trust in Christ's Turnaround Grace" is based on Romans 5:12-19.

2/23/23 - Ash Wednesday

Tonight, we witness our Lord and Savior return to His Father's house to cleanse and restore the temple to its true purpose. As we mark the beginning of Lent, we look for the Savior to cleanse and restore our hearts with the forgiveness of our sins and the assurance of our eternal healing in His cross. Pastor's sermon, "His Final Steps Led Him to His Father's House" is based on Matthew 21:12-17.

2/19/23 - Transfiguration

It is good for us to be here! Before Jesus suffered as our substitute, He appeared in glory as the Son of God. In the face of suffering and doubt, we have the assurance of the apostles' eyewitness testimony and the word of the prophets confirmed, that the God of Mt. Sinai became a man to suffer and die for us. Pastor's sermon, "Rest in Christ's Transfiguration Glory" is based on 2 Peter 1:16-21. God bless your worship!

2/12/23 - 6th Sun. after Epiphany

Jesus came to free us from sin; He did not free us to sin. God is holy; and He expects us to be holy also. As Jesus lays out God's expectations of holiness, we despair of ourselves and our own authority, and place ourselves under Christ. Becuase He gives us hope in His grace and forgiveness. Pastor's sermon, "Look to Jesus' Authority Alone" is based on Matthew 5:21-37. God bless your worship!
